To "walk in the spirit" is to walk the good path.

It is our way of life.  It is about honor and respect for others, our beloved Elders, our Mother Earth, and the Great Mystery.  It is about good intentions.

"Walk in the Spirit" with us September 18th & 19th and walk the good path every day!

Building of the Cedar Arbor

Building the cedar arbor begins with raising the center pole. Our center pole is about 30 feet tall.

No fasteners hold the poles in place. The arbor gains stability as each cedar pole is added.

Saturday a.m. before the cedar boughs are added to complete the shelter.

Before the pow wow begins, the community is invited to add their prayers to the boughs.

After the People add their thoughts and prayers, the boughs are placed onto the arbor.

Historic Charlton Park - Anishnabe Homecoming Grounds

The drive through Charlton Park to the pow wow grounds is breathtaking.

The wigwam is situated along a creek bed in the Park.

Charlton Park also has a Plains teepee on the grounds. During the pow wow, you will likely find Head Vet camped here! Most of our campers camp just below the teepee.
